Ana y Jaime – Café y Petróleo
Translation – Coffee and oil
Today’s musical interlude is brought to you all the way from Bogotá, Columbia, with a protest song from Ana y Jaime. From what I can gather from the lyrics, this song seems to be (partly) about Simón Bolívar (http://www.biography.com/people/simon-bolivar-241196#synopsis) and it includes the line, I believe relating to him,”Because it doesn’t matter where you are born or where you die, but where you fight…”. Pertinent for today, as well as when they originally sang those words.
