14th August 2015: N’Gola Ritmos – Manazinha

Language – Kimbundu (an Angolan language)

Translation – OK, this is odd.  ‘Manhãzinha‘ is a Portuguese word meaning ‘ early in the morning’, and Portuguese is an official language in Angola, but the band sang in Kimbundu.  So, either this song is sung in Portuguese, or the title is Portuguese and the song isn’t, or ‘manhãzinha’ is a word that means something else in Kimbundu…?
