13th April 2015: Covers Week – Day 1: Sroeng Santi – Kuen Kuen Lueng Lueng

Language – Thai

Cover: Iron Man by Black Sabbath (sort of…technically it just borrows the riffage, but I say that counts!)

I have chosen this song to kick off Covers Week on my blog for a few reasons.  Firstly, it is brilliant.  Secondly, it is a ‘cover’ of a song by a band from my home town – namely, Birmingham, UK.  Thirdly, Thai New Year (or should I say, Songkran) starts today (and carries on until Wednesday).  Learn more about that here: http://songkran2014.com/   Oh, and สวัสดีปีใหม่! (saa-wat-dii pi-mai!)

This track was available on the superb Finders Keepers website as a 7″ single.  That is (obviously) now sold out.  Thankfully you can still get it on their compilation called ‘Thai? Dai!’ as a CD or LP (or a download from Klicktrack).
